Welcome to StoriesbySavannah.com (the "Website"). This Website is owned and operated by Stories by Savannah("we," "us," or "our").
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using our Website, purchasing our books, subscribing to our boxes, or booking any of our storytelling or sensory workshop services. By accessing or using any part of the Website, or by purchasing our products or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access the Website or use our services.
1. Eligibility & Intent of Services
This Website, our e-commerce store, and our booking platforms are intended strictly for use by adults (parents, legal guardians, educators, librarians, and event coordinators). While our books, subscription boxes, and workshops are designed for children, all purchases and agreements must be made by individuals who are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, all content on this Website—including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, book illustrations (from Muddy Maddi and Dominic), educational lesson plans, worksheets, and digital downloads—is the exclusive intellectual property of Stories by Savannah and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Permitted Use: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access our Website and use purchased educational materials solely for your personal, family, or classroom use.
Prohibited Use: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, resell, license, or create derivative works from any of our proprietary content, book illustrations, or curriculum guides without express, prior written consent from us.
3. E-Commerce, Subscriptions, and Billing
By purchasing physical products or enrolling in a subscription program (e.g., "The Soil to Soul Box") through our Website, you agree to the following billing and fulfillment terms:
Payment & Security: All transactions are processed securely through encrypted third-party payment gateways (such as Shopify, Stripe, or PayPal). We do not store your complete financial details on our servers.
Subscription Renewal: "Soil to Soul" subscriptions automatically renew on a recurring basis (monthly or quarterly) depending on the plan selected at checkout. Your payment method on file will be charged automatically at the start of each renewal cycle.
Cancellation Policy: You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time through your customer account portal. To avoid being billed for the next cycle, cancellation requests must be processed at least five (5) business days before your scheduled renewal date.
Shipping & Delivery: We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by shipping carriers, weather, or incorrect shipping addresses provided at checkout.
Refunds & Returns: Due to the seasonal and curated nature of our subscription boxes and books, all physical product sales are final. If a product arrives damaged, please contact us at [info@storiesbysavannah.com] within seven (7) days of delivery with photos of the damage to receive a replacement.
4. Interactive Events, Workshops, and Liability Waiver
Savannah hosts live physical storytelling sessions, agricultural workshops, and sensory "mud play" events (collectively, "Workshops"). By booking a Workshop or registering a child to participate in a Workshop, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Inherent Risks of Sensory Play: Our Workshops involve tactile, hands-on activities that may include contact with soil, mud, compost, water, seeds, plants, organic materials, non-toxic paint, and natural elements. You acknowledge that participating in these activities carries inherent risks, including but not limited to stained clothing, slips, trips, falls, and contact with environmental allergens.
Allergies & Sensitivities: It is the sole responsibility of the parent, legal guardian, or hosting organization to notify us of any severe allergies or sensitivities (such as seed, pollen, nut, or skin sensitivities) prior to the Workshop. We do not guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Supervision Requirement: For community or family events, children must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. For school assemblies and library workshops, the hosting institution must ensure that appropriate staff-to-student ratios are maintained to manage behavior and safety.
Release of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and discharge Stories by Savannah, its officers, employees, and independent contractors from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising out of bodily injury, property damage, or allergic reactions occurring during or as a result of participation in our Workshops.
5. Educational and Mental Health Disclaimer
Our books, resources, and SEL Workshops (including those featuring the book Dominic) focus on emotional literacy, mindfulness, and processing "big feelings."
Not Medical or Psychological Advice: The content, materials, and sessions provided by Stories by Savannah are designed strictly for educational and enrichment purposes. They do not constitute, and must not be used as a substitute for, professional clinical therapy, pediatric counseling, medical diagnosis, psychiatric intervention, or psychological treatment.
Seeking Help: If a child is experiencing severe emotional distress, behavioral crises, or mental health challenges, we strongly urge you to consult a licensed mental health professional or pediatric specialist.
6. Booking Requests, Deposits, and Cancellations
For institutional bookings (schools, libraries, museums, festivals):
Booking Confirmation: A booking is only officially secured once we receive a signed presentation agreement and any required booking deposit.
Invoicing & Purchase Orders: We accept official school purchase orders (POs). Invoices are payable within net-30 days of the completed event unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Cancellation & Rescheduling: If an event must be canceled due to inclement weather, school closures, or illness, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule. Deposits for cancelled events are non-refundable but may be applied as a credit toward a future rescheduled date within twelve (12) months.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Stories by Savannah or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of our Website, products, or services. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and your relationship with Stories by Savannah shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Johnston County/Selma, NC.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. When we make updates, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Website, purchase of products, or booking of services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
